Founded in Acton, MA in 1992 by Steve Walker, New England Wood Pellet LLC is the largest manufacturer and distributor of clean, renewable wood pellet fuel in the northeastern U.S. Walker moved the company to our flagship facility in Jaffrey NH in 1999. The Jaffrey manufacturing plant has undergone repeated upgrades in manufacturing processes, many designed by Walker and widely accepted in the industry today. |
| In an effort to keep pace with rapidly increasing demand for wood pellet fuel, the company recently reorganized in anticipation of major expansion plans. The company is now owned by Walker and several other investors, and governed by a Board of Managers. |
New Ventures |

- Palmer Reload and Packaging Center in Palmer MA (opened in October of 2006), where we are packaging and distributing 30,000 tons of premium pellets imported by bulk rail from Canada, to supplement our production capability
- New England Wood Pellet, Schuyler Facility (opened in October, 2007), a 100,000 ton/year plant in Schuyler, NY.
- Construction of a 1.5 megawatt wood-fueled, direct-fired gas turbine cogeneration plant to provide power and heat for our Jaffrey plant, in partnership with Zilkha Biomass Energy LLC
